feel that rumble January 24, 2014Summer No CommentThis track, Shady from Protohype and 12th Planet makes me want to spaz out on the playground. It’s simply fun. Love the rumbling bass line and wobble at 1.30. Nice utilization of high and low register lasers as well as classic “yah” “yah.” Get ready, they kick it up at 2.45. Swag. don’t be skerd January 23, 2014Summer No CommentThis drop at 1.22 and bad ass thumping drum roll at 1.35 will keep you safe. Beautiful vocals with a lot awesome effects, 2.31, woah! I’m digging how the beat drops off into an echo at the end too. R/D I’m Not Afraid and check out his Cloud Pound EP, it’s RAD! DubstepAngela Seal, dubstep, I'm not afraid, R/DShare : Tweet
Oiki January 20, 2014Summer No CommentI am SO excited about this artist, Oiki out of Moscow Russia. All his tracks are creepy and great, but here’s his most spectacular, Groove. I can’t even express how ridiculously good this beat and exotic melody [.08 & .35] is. A perfect balance of hollowness and intricate layering. The windy howling/siren is captivating, you can hear it really well all through 40, before the claps start at .48. Gun loading, shots and machine gun fire are icing, can’t get enough. Plus a bunch of other delicious little sounds tucked away here and there, slamming, shuffling footsteps, follow! drone strike! January 19, 2014Summer No CommentLast year, these guys released the only Daft Punk remix that’s ever caught my attention and looks like they’re currently making some more music of their own. This track, Maximus deploys brutal beats, tragic drops and sound design akin to that of Noisia’s. The severity of its intense, gritty vibe is mischievously countered by swishy cranking, muted scratches and an ambush of Epoch’s sick signature doppler effects. They’re going to blow your mind up when they land, so prep. Stat. This is not for the faint of heart. Born January 17, 2014Summer No CommentBeautiful. Song. -best way to describe MitiS’ Born (vocal mix.) Love the synth and harmony, love the lyrics: “I’m a walking disaster, a broken machine, and I know that none of it matters as long as I’m inside this dream with you.” He has a lot of great tracks, reminds me of Blackmill, who I’m also crazy about. Take me with you! January 16, 2014Summer No CommentI’ve really been enjoying West Klintwood lately and Interplanetary is one theirs that I just have to share. It starts off sounding like a spaceship taking off then, RIDICULOUS buzzy growl, yes, yes yes! Looove me some growl. The gurgling at .22 is rad and there’s a little bit of some kind of cool ricocheting knock/clap hybrid flatlining first at .34, like it. The zippy laser is working for this track, need I even mention the beat? I don’t think so. Miley needs love too. January 7, 2014Jules No CommentOnly Kraddy can make it “ok” to indulge yourself in a little Miley. I’m really digging the sexy darkness he adds to it, plus an interesting use of bells. At 2:50, I get those good grimy shivers that we all know and love. The more you listen, the more you’re hooked!
