All Mine

Errybody loves Beyonce.  Not errybody loves remixes, BUT, this one’s a surprising doozy!  This song gets you going with some lovely piano keys and a teasing subtle thump.  I was vibin’ to it, and THEN! ALLUVASUDDEN! It drops at 1:27 with a mega switcharoo: plucky hollow pops transitioning to some gnarly grittyness at 1:45 and I was jjjaaammmin’!!!!  Such surprise! So glorious!!  And I am obsessed with the echoey vocals trailing to the finish.  Beautiful.

SPL Interview

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with SPL in the studio during production of his Son of Kick remix: Hours, featuring Paigey Cakey and Lady LeShurr. We dicuss the launching of his career in Europe, the Smog City winter tour and his long awaited return to Drum & Bass. Check it out and grab the new track on Beatport!

Keep it Midnight

An-Ten-Nae’s new duo with Releece is really nailing the sexy throbbing bass… but they have been since day one!  Their latest right here is no exception.  This bassline is so seductive with a heavy bounce that belongs in the bedroom.  Sensuality drips from every ounce of this song, from the very beginning with its body-rolling rhythm, throaty vocals paired with angelic cries and teasing build that’s got me gripping the edge of the bed.

I really appreciate how Dimond Saints knows how to command a song and feed it with quiet burning energy, an amazing alternative to a club banger, but still lends the ability to get absolutely filthy on the dance floor! Grinding is the old school twerking after all… let’s get back to our roots people!!!

Life Aquatic

I’m a sucker for brilliant sound design, so Tipper gets me with every track. This one, Gulch is dripping wet with aquatic melodies, his signature sub bass that merges visceral sound fx with your nervous system. There’s no escaping, don’t even try.
I’ve been dying to catch Tipper live for years and get this, my favorite sound scientist will be headlining my favorite holiday, Halloween night at Club Nokia. Tipper featuring Quixotic, Russ Liquid, Gladkill, Sugarpill, ChrisB., Goldrush, jOBOT, Jupit3r, Morillo, Jonathan Singer and Jigglesworth it’s going to be tight, can’t miss this!

Sweetly Addicted

Ohhhhh glorious melodic bass how I adore thee! Oh sweet haunting female vocals, how I ALSO adore thee!!!  This fresh new jam right here has that beautiful combo of both.  Nyxx has an angelic voice with an Ellie Goulding quality, the way it drifts over the deep bassline; while the general style of the song has a hint of Seven Lions’ magical sounds.   The lyrics are super catchy and this girl’s got a powerhouse set of pipes to boot!

Originating from Boston MA, Nyxx is launching her career in LA  just two years ago.  Keep an eye out for her EP, dropping in December, because we definitely will!

ART – Mt. Eden, At Night

So recently I tweeted about Mt. Eden’s latest masterpiece, “At Night”.  Now usually for my lyrics pieces there are, well, LYRICS I incorporate into the art but I don’t think that should restrict what I create art inspired by.  If a song takes me away… that’s all that matters. So, for the latest lyrics piece I had to choose Mt. Eden.

This song is so beautiful and delicately woven together.  There’s a sense of mystery, wondering, and journey that really captures my attention.  When I close my eyes, I feel like I’m standing at the edge of a huuuuuge cliff, and hundreds of feet below are crashing waves and the wind is so strong I can lean over the edge against it…  (Pretty much, I am Pocahontas, let’s be real.)

But, that’s what music does, it takes you to a place far away.

I Want This.

So the other day I was chillin, listening to The Future Beats show by Complexion (super amazing way to discover fresh music!) and this jam popped on.  The clucky plucky water droplet cacophony  caught my ear immeeeediately.  This has to be one of the most unique songs I’ve heard in a llllonnnng time.  It might be too advanced for it’s own good honestly!  The colorful sound samples and pops, intensely dynamic vocal warps, dramatic drums and all-around dreamy sensual feels are mind bending.  (Eclectic would be an understatement!)  I have no doubt that there will be MANY copycats to this fresh sound when it catches popularity.  At the moment, Quelle has an underwhelming amount of followers, which is mind blowing itself for such talent, but I have a feeling we’re gonna see a song catch fire soon and then… then it’s all over.  Honestly, I think Quelle is a big mystery and would doubt that this was the first song produced… Hmmmm…… who is Quelle??!

Anyways, be the first to hear such magnificent originality!! Follow and support!
