Give Us More

OOOHHHH the feeeEEEELZ!  Such beautiful feels for such a beautiful song.  First you got me hooked with that echoey chipmunk voice and melodic dubby feel, then you bust in with this dude’s glorious glorious voice preaching outstanding lyrics to live by? But wait there’s MORE! Now to contrast this glorious man voice we toss in Anna Yvette’s whispery swoons. DONE. I’m done.

This song has similar qualities to Seven Lions but isn’t a direct rip-off like so many other songs I’ve heard.  Skrux has enough of his own flavor to keep me and six thousand (and counting) other people listening.  GIVE US MORE SKRUX!!!!! Have a listen for yourself!

Smiling Satyr

The first time I saw Cualli at Envision in Costa Rica, I had no idea who he was.  I was just at this stage at some point in the day, not really knowing where’d I’d been or where I was going (as most common with most festivals) and the most uplifting mystical music started soaring over the crowd.  Aside from Buffalo Child, I hadn’t seen the crowd go this nuts before at this particular festival.  Everywhere I looked I saw smiling faces and pure joy just crackling through the air.  Even though I was severely exhausted and felt like I could barely keep my eyes open, I couldn’t stop dancing! His music just pours glowing energy into your veins.

I love the flute in this one, makes me feel like we should be dancing barefoot by a fire under a full moon with a crazy satyr just rockin it!  The positive vibes of this song are contagious and powerful that are well crafted to build and flourish til the very end.

Give us a smile!

Lucky One

OoooOOOOooooOOO!! I squealed when I heard this one. It’s so shiny and sparkley!  …I don’t know if it’s possible for a song to be such a thing, but I swear, this song just shimmers.  It’s definitely a bit on the fem side I’d say, sorry dudes but I’m not sure you’re gonna dig the mega pitched vocals (but I don’t care. SORRYYYYYYY!!!!!)

I’m so in love with the chill vibe, sexy bass and all around sparkles, but also it kinda crushes my heart. There’s a lot of emotion captured with the echoey notes, reverberating bass and that “underwater” effect at 2.49… ugh, SO perfect.

Drift Away

This is a unique one!  We’ve got a catchy experimental-ish groove thing goin on in the beginning which caught my attention right off the bat.  Then a quick switch from light and catchy to dramatic emotion filled vocals at 1.06 and I was hooked.  (I could play that short clip on repeat for 3 hours probably definitely.) And immediately right back to a chill beat, but now I feel like it’s more thought provoking. Subtly, the two are artfully swirled together in this gorgeous combo of unique beauty.  Honestly, this song feels more like a work of art than anything else! So I can’t exactly put my finger on why, but I’m captivated with this mysterious drifting song.

House got Soul

Yes, yes I know… I posted a House song.  If you know me at all, you know how I feel about House. I swear I could throw up with boredom. I feel like all I can do is bob my head to it and watch everyone else bob their heads.  Now, that’s not to say that House isn’t “good”, it’s just a genre that brings me to tears with it’s dullness! So anyways, if I’m posting a House song, it’s pretty much like witnessing a Unicorn leaping out of a liquor store. Talk about surprising!

There are exceptions of course and I gotta say, this song is a big one for me.  I feel like House can be amazing if it is paired with some beautiful vocals or if it’s bred with another genre to add some spice to it.  For this one, I’m diggin the vocals and lyrics so much that the chill beat and sounds are a nice compliment to it.  I could happily close my eyes and bob to this one!  Soul mixed with House… who knew?  Well done Camson, my hat’s off to you!

90s Trap?!

Well aint DIS some shit?! Amazing shit!  Firstly, I love 90s music and I don’t care what anyone else says. Secondly, I love good remixes.

This is a glorious combo of both!! I’m really diggin that snake charmer sound thrown in there with an appropriate use of high hats. (Sometimes [mostofthetime] trap producers abuse the high hats and that crap just offends the senses. SUBTLETY my friends!!!) I also think it’s cool that they purposely included more than the chorus for lyrics, like many remixes tend to do.  It does the original more justice if you ask me.

On top of that, getting the free download bring’s your to Walu’s page which is a charity for improving the hygiene and sanitary conditions in Papua New Guinea’s coastal communities. HOLLA!!!

Golfer’s clap! Support and show love to some sweet beats!
