just popped

The Lucent Dossier Experience just popped my Kundalini with their deep electrocuting bass surges… or maybe it was the sick Bouzouki riff in Shaman’s Dance… it also could have been the automated phone system processing sound around 0:05 in Kundalini that I’ve ALWAYS wanted to hear in a song. I love their use of electronic pipe organ and epicness, per the usual. I’ll be listening all weekend and I can’t wait to see it live!

Balearic Bass

SPL’s ability to blend the nastiest beats and most tragic drops with beautiful, tranquil melodies is untouched by anyone else. Puerto Rico, Hypnotizing and Don’t U Leave Me are my very favorite tracks, in that order. These sounds do something indescribable to my brain. He is definitely one of my top five favorite producers. I started listening last year and had one of the most fun nights of my life at his King King show in December. I participated in an epic Sunday morning sunrise dance session to the Balearic Bass album just a couple weeks ago and I can’t wait to do it again at his set this Friday night at 333 Live with Stickybuds, J*Labs and Orphic.

Check out AudioMolly’s sweet new graphix! I’m taking it for a test drive to Epoch Rises new track Binary. Starting out with beautiful exotic singing, some slappin’ da bass mon, and ample growls. The zippy vibrato and staticy, glitch organ make me want to monster mash, plus they go great with the tragic choir/violin duo and intense build-then-drop.  I’m almost certain that I hear a “Woah!” or two in there, then they break it down right about 2:13. 01000001 01001101 00100000 00111100 00110011 01110011 00100000 01000101 01010010

Scare Me

I’m absolutely loving the eerie yet dancey vibe this beat is drummin’ to!  Being able to balance and blend unique sounds is a craft for sure and Rude Kid is damn good at it. That piano plus the gritty bass and subtle vocals? YES.

Going through his sounds he mixes in that sweet wubby wub with hip hop, bass, grime, darkness, and funk.  He has an edgy sound for sure, always creepin in with a dark undertone that makes you wanna slither on the dance floor. With the inflation of electronic music you really need a unique signature style to rise to the top and I can’t wait to see Rude Boy get there!
