There were many adrenaline pumping challenges such as staying behind the red rope to observe a huge lazy sea turtle lounging on the beach like a fat ass, trying not to hyperventilate while snorkeling in shallow water, and pushing the limits on how much food I can consume before bursting. Safe to say, I passed all these tests. OH! Also, cage diving with sharks, there was that too… THEN I had to go straight to Lightning in a Bottle with Summer on important business that involved dancing in ill fitting boots til my feet were covered in delightful blisters! Surprisingly, the real world is not as fun as Hawaii or LiB (who’da thunk?!) so I needed to ease back in and there really isn’t anything as perfect as EmiljoAC Acidation bustin out with some relaxing chill vibes, piano notes, echoey vocals and I think there’s a sexy saxophone dabbling around in there.. Pachuco Rises May 13, 2014Jules 3 CommentsWelpst, Epoch has done it again!! Another masterful remix which is just as epic as their last one, the freakin’ Lion King! I’m really diggin the unique choices on songs. Aint no remixes of Ellie Goulding, James Blake or Lana del Rey here! Not that there’s anything wrong with them, but it seems to be the common “thing” to do as a producer. Epoch’s recent developments are quite refreshing and I have a feeling we can expect more vibrant selections in the future. (Maybe My Little Pony???) Hot hot hot!! May 9, 2014Jules 2 Comments Song is aptly named I must say. This “wavey” vibe makes me think of heat rising off a scorching sand dune. Maybe because this song is so HOT! (GET IT?!?!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!) Definitely traveling through a desert town to this one… maybe some harem girls dancing, fire spinning, a giant cobra just chillin on a huge satin pillow. I love the combo of different cultural sounds with trap and sexy sultry bass popped with some perfectly positioned snaps. I love Foreplay. April 29, 2014Jules 1 CommentSo Kill Paris just dropped his Foreplay EP today. I ran out to my balcony and screamed at someone walking by “FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSsssss!!!!!!!” ..I didn’t really do this but I wanted to. I’ve loved Kill Paris for a while now. First time was at the King King for my birthday last year in May and he blew my damn face off. Also, my friends hassled that guy so badly til he finally (and begrudgingly) wished me a happy birthday. (THANK YOU BTW AND I AM SORRY FOR LOVING YOU SO!!!!) I was super stoked to see him at Coachella the first weekend and I definitely didn’t give a shit about any other headliner. Again, he did not disappoint. The energy at the Do Lab was absolutely ridiculous, the wind was blowing like crazy and everyone was just losing their minds. That guy just knows how to command a crowd! Yes it was pure heaven and the BEST way to end the weekend. The entire EP is funky and fun. Very distinctive Kill Paris sounds and energy that will not disappoint.
